The Art of Hosting and Convening Meaningful Conversations

In October, Dr Frances Baldwin gave one of the keynote speeches at the annual Organization Development Network Conference in Austin, Texas – the most significant learning event in the global calendar for the OD profession.  Frances, the author of ‘The Art of Engagement: Taking Transformative Simplicity to Scale’, shared her ideas and experience of changing conversations in organisations.  She believes that six elements cohere the practices of engagement: reaching intentionally into the boundary zone, those contested spaces of possibilities; using generative thought to drive your world view; considering the whole system as your domain; using transformation as your ‘going-in’ intention; making the focus of change the people of the organisation, and personally embodying the values and principles of engagement, a prerequisite for the effectiveness of the whole endeavour.

We hope to bring Frances back to the UK later in 2009 to deliver her pioneering programme on ‘The Art of Hosting and Convening Meaningful Conversations’.  For more information, contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
